The Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships are a program funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) that supports high-quality postgraduate students from low and middle-income Commonwealth countries. These scholarships enable individuals to access training and skills required for development while remaining in their home countries. The scholarships are for part-time Master’s studies by distance learning on selected courses offered by UK universities.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must be citizens of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person.
- Must be permanently resident in a developing Commonwealth country.
- Hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) standard.
- Be unable to afford to study the programme without this scholarship.
Application Procedure:
- Applications for the 2024/25 academic year are now open.
- Applicants must apply and secure admission to study an approved Master’s course at a participating UK university in addition to applying for a Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship.
- Applicants can apply for more than one course and to more than one university, but they may only accept one offer of a Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship.
- Applications to the CSC must be made using the CSC’s online application system.
Application Deadline:
- The deadline for submitting an application is 16:00 GMT on Thursday 28 March 2024.
Scholarship Value:
- A Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship covers tuition fees and study grants where required.
